Typography for brands: choosing and pairing fonts

Typography quietly sets the tone of everything you produce. The right typeface can make a brand feel modern, established, playful or premium before a single word is read.

Most brands need just two typefaces: one with personality for headlines, and one highly legible workhorse for body text. Pair contrast with harmony — a distinctive display face alongside a clean, readable sans usually works well.

Legibility comes first, especially in print and signage. Overly decorative fonts may look striking in a logo but become tiring across a menu or brochure.

As part of a brand system, we define your typefaces, sizes and spacing so every document looks consistent, whoever creates it.
